Assam Rifles celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas

Assam Rifles celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas
Modern weapons being displayed on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas celebration in Jalukie on July 26 for the students of Assam Rifles Public School.

Dimapur, July 28 (EMN): Jalukie battalion of the Assam Rifles observed the 23rd Kargil Vijay Diwas at Assam Rifles Public School in Jalukie under Peren district on July 26.

During the celebrations, the students were briefed about the history of the landmark victory of Indian armed forces and sacrifices made by soldiers for their motherland and how it instilled a sense of pride in every soldier and citizens of the country.

A defence release stated that students have enthusiastically participated in the various competitions held to commemorate the event. Besides, a weapon display was also conducted at the school to motivate the students, which further intrigued the young students and motivated them towards security forces as a career choice.

A total of 146 students and 11 teachers from the school attended the event.

In a separate programme, the same battalion organised an interaction on modern farming techniques in Jalukie ‘B’ village on July 26.The programme was organised in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Peren.

During the event, the farmers were briefed about various modern farming techniques and encouraged to get information from various agricultural services available in the region to improve their productivity and livelihood. 

A total of 50 farmers were benefited at the event.

Meanwhile, Kiphire battalion of the Assam Rifles also organised an interaction with the heads of Natsami, Thazuvi, Yangsekyu, Nikiye, Yowoto, Nitoi, and Shishimi villages on July 25.

The aim of organising the meeting was to promote ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and encourage people to hoist the national flag to mark the 75th year of India’s Independence. Another aim was to encourage parents to motivate their wards for upcoming army recruitment rally under Agnipath scheme and to enhance the friendly relations of Assam Rifles with the locals of those villages.
