Diphu, May 13 (EMN): Ahead of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) election, Assam Pradesh BJP President Bhabesh Kalita on Friday visited Diphu, East Karbi Anglong district committee office, where party leaders and workers from opposition parties - All Party Hill Leaders Conference (APHLC), Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC), CPI (ML) and Congress joined the saffron party.
Among them were Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) general secretary and spokesperson, Dr. Mongve Rongpi; Jagatsing Tokbi, President, Lumbajong Block Congress Committee; Pranab Nunisa, former DHD leader and Thongthang Thoungthang, independent candidate in the last 2017 MAC election.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=6]The joining programme was held at BJP East Karbi Anglong District Committee, near ARTC first gate, Diphu-Manja Road. The party said that 842 party leaders and workers from other parties joined BJP. All the newly joined party workers were accepted to the BJP fold with a BJP scarf and cap.
Speaking in the joining programee the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang said, “There are much work to be done. There is the border issue, road and communication, potable drinking water facility, Article 244 (A) of the Indian Constitution, the implementation of MoS of 2011 and the MoS of 2021. We have to take up all these issues”.
He also said that ‘there should be peace then there will be development’. Both Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong should be equally developed, he added.
Urging the party workers and newly joined members from other parties, the CEM said, “We need to strengthen the party led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, JP Nadda and for that, we should all work together”. The ‘three Ds’ – Delhi, Dispur and Diphu is ruled by BJP and this should continue, the CEM said.
About the joining of new faces, the CEM said that by seeing the good deeds and the development activities of BJP government, more and more leaders and party workers from other parties are joining the BJP.
The State BJP President Kalita said that, ‘under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, immense change had been brought in the country”.
Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has a special preference for the hill districts and under his guidance Karbi Anglong has received lots of development, Kalita added.
June 8 will be the date of voting and counting of votes will be done on June 12 and after that, there will be no existence of Congress in Karbi Anglong as the BJP is going to come back to power at KAAC. In all the 26 MAC constituencies, BJP will win, he said.
Kalita congratulating Tuliram Ronghang for successfully completing 5 years term as CEM KAAC said, “I appreciate CEM Tuliram Ronghang as he successfully completed his five year term and brought much changes in Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong”.
