Asmita Women’s League 3×3 basketball Dimapur leg from August 30
DIMAPUR — The Dimapur District Basketball Association (DDBA) will host the Dimapur leg of the Khelo India Asmita Women’s League 3×3 basketball tournament on August 30 and 31 at the JV Foundation Basket Court in Signal Bosti, Dimapur.
The Asmita Women’s League is a programme under Khelo India to promote sports among women in India.
The league, in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Basketball Federation of India, aims to increase women’s participation in sports by organising various leagues, to use the leagues as a platform for identifying new talents and evaluating existing Khelo India athletes, and to provide competition exposure to women athletes of various age categories across the country.
The 3×3 basketball tournament in Dimapur will be part of a 50-city programme overseen by the Basketball Federation of India and its associate members across India.
The Dimapur leg will have a league cash prize of INR 15,000 for the winner, INR 7,500 for the runner-up, and INR 2,000 for the MVP, according to a press release from DDBA.
DDBA is also looking for partners and sponsorships from organisations that work to empower women for this league.
