Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Kohima, along with District Health Society, Department of Health & Family Welfare (NHM), conducted training on capacity building of link workers (ASHA) under NUHM in Inter Personal Communication (IPC) from February 9 – 12 in the CMO’s conference hall by IEC Bureau, DHFW.
The resource persons of the week-long training were Supongbenla Lemtur; Heto, IEC Bureau; Puni Kokho, State Facilitator, RRC (NE); Bengdangmongla, IEC Bureau; Limala Aier, HEO; Elizabeth, HE; and two FWA Kevililie Belho and Kezevizo Solo.
The programme was chaired by Heto, IEC Bureau DH & FW, who also made introduction of training programme. The training focused on the IPC and communication skills for ASHAs, aims and objectives of National Health Mission (NHM)/ NUHM, national vector diseases, and routine immunization/ UIP.
ASHAs were trained on ANC, PNC, INC, family planning and non communicable disease. Throughout the training, resource persons stressed on child health and briefed on remedy of diarrhoea with preparation of home-made ORS.
Every session was followed by practical session, discussion and role play to access the learning outcome of the ASHAs. They were also evaluated after every session as to bring massive changes towards the health seeking behaviour of the community.
