As Covid-19 case increases, Dimapur to identify additional Covid care centre

Dimapur, July 12 (EMN): With Covid-19 positive cases increasing in the district, the Dimapur district administration, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and paramilitary forces decided to identify additional Covid care center.

The house suggested Ganeshnagar quarantine centre, New Deputy Commissioner (DC) office complex, Chumoukedima and Institute of Hotel Management, Kushuabill and decided that the new identified centre would be jointly managed with the help of military and paramilitary.

According to a DIPR update, the decision was taken during the meeting convened by DC Anoop Khinchi with CMO and Paramilitary forces on Sunday in the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner.

During the meeting, the DC stressed on the importance of the district administration, Medical department and paramilitary forces in working together in fighting and containing the Covid-19 pandemic.

CMO Dr. Tiasunep Pongener informed about the increase of Covid-19 positive cases in the paramilitary quarantine centers as well as cases of re-infection. In this regard, he urged the concerned for maintaining discipline and following strict protocol to contain the spread of the virus

The members decided that swab collection point military and paramilitary forces in Dimapur district would be identified. It was also decided that the CMO will sent his team for imparting training on how to collect samples and necessary SOPs as well as provide medium for sample collection.
