Arunachal Pradesh urges Centre for early execution of medical college

PTI ITANAGAR, JULY 30 Arunachal Pradesh has urged the Centre for early execution of the proposed Arunachal Medical College as well as enhancement of MBBS and BDS seats under central pool. State Health and Family Welfare Minister Rajesh Tacho in a memorandum to Union Health Minister J P Nadda on Wednesday also sought a one-time central assistance for development of five upgraded general hospitals in the state, an official communique said here today. Tacho also informed him about the recent outbreak of Dengue and Japanese Encephalitis (JE) in the state and sought support to combat the diseases. The Union minister has assured full support to all the issues brought to his notice and expressed his desire to visit the state in late August this year. In a separate meeting with Union Minister of State for AYUSH, Shripad Yesso Naik, Tacho submitted a memorandum seeking setting up of a 50-bed Ayurveda college in the state with an in-take capacity of 50 students annually, the communique said. He also sought support in establishing a separate directorate for AYUSH in order to streamline the Ayurvedic system in the state. The minister also requested the Ministry to enhance the resource pool allocation under National AYUSH Mission to the state.
