Around 56 thousand students set to appear Nagaland board exams

Dimapur, Feb. 8 (EMN): Across 79 provisional examination centres and two sub-centres in Nagaland, 23,189 students will appear for the High School Leaving Certificate examination which begins on Feb. 13. According to a statement from the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) on Friday, out of the 23,189 students, 11,175 are boys and 12014, girls. “Six hundred sixty-five schools are presenting 19,953 regular candidates for the HSLC examination. Three thousand two hundred thirty-two candidates are repeaters. Two students are appearing again to improve their result and there are two cases of change of centre,” it informed. Dimapur district has the highest enrolment with 7598 students; followed by Kohima district with 3929. For the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate examination, which begins on Feb. 12, 15,820 students will be appearing—11,860 in Arts stream, 1319 in Commerce stream, and 2641 in Science stream—across 54 provisional examination centres. The HSSLC Examination and Class XI Promotion Examination 2019 commences from 12th February 2019 and HSLC Examination 2019 from the 13th February 2019. Out of 15,820 candidates, 8335 are girls and 7485, boys. “In Arts stream, regular candidates from 154 institutions are enrolled whereas in Commerce and Science stream, the candidates are from 32 and 41 institutions respectively. A total of 17,027 students will also be appearing for the class XI Promotion Examination 2019,” it informed. Also, the board extended best wishes to the students set to appear the examinations. “All candidates are requested to reach the examination centre in time by moving out from home early. It also requests all the centre superintendents and the invigilators to conduct the examinations as per the rules.”
