Imphal, Jan. 25: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Bipin Rawat visited Manipur to oversee the prevailing security situation in Manipur on Wednesday. General Rawat was accompanied by GOC-in-C Eastern Command Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi and GOC-in- C 3 Corps Lt Gen Anil Chauhan.
The COAS was briefed on the prevailing security situation in the state by the local Commanders, says PRO Assam Rifles in a press release on Wednesday. The COAS reviewed the operational preparedness of the formations during his visit to the state and appreciated the endeavours of security forces. Army Chief lauded the efforts of the soldiers for ensuring peace and tranquillity in the state and also asked them to continue the good work in a professional manner and in the true spirit of the “Friends of the Manipur.”
The COAS also called on the Manipur Governor Dr. Najama A Heptulla during his visit.
