EMN Dimapur, November 2 An armed youth accused of threatening an auto-rickshaw has been arrested by Dimapur police. The youth, one Joshua Achumi of Old Shena village is said to also have fired his gun, authorities said on Saturday in a press release. Police raided the accused person’s place on the morning of October 31, the press release said. “On 30/10/15, an auto driver was assaulted at the Auto Parking at PWD Colony and threatened with a fire arm by an unknown miscreant. The miscreants also opened fire and left,” the police said. “Upon receipt of the complaint, Dimapur Police under Zone-II enquired into the matter and arrested the miscreant after a raid was made in the morning of 31/10/15. The miscreant involved in the incident was arrested identified as Joshua Achumi S/o. Inakha Achumi of Old Shena village and a present resident of Landmark Colony, Dimapur.” One .22 pistol with seven live rounds and four fired cases was also seized from his possession, the police said. Stolen vehicle found A truck bearing the registration number NL-06A-1988, said to have been stolen from Assam in 2004 and wanted in connection with a police has been found in Kohima town. Kohima police authorities said on Monday that the vehicle was found on October 29 by the Anti-Vehicle Theft Squad of the Kohima police. “The officer-in-charge of Basistha P.S is intimated through inter-state wireless transmission to claim the stolen and recovered vehicle from Kohima police with all relevant vehicle documents and court orders. The original registration number of the said stolen vehicle is ascertained as AS25A2795 according to the official records,” the press release said. In another incident, personnel of the Kohima police manning the interstate check gate at Khuzama near Kohima have confiscated two trucks, a Shakitman and an unidentified tipper. The vehicles bear the registration number AS-01Z-1575 and NL-05D-8743, in that order. “During verification of the vehicles documents both the drivers failed to produce valid vehicle documents. Both the trucks were seized and detained at Khuzama Police Station for conducting further investigation,” the police said.
