Archbishop of Calcutta to visit Nagaland

[caption id="attachment_255876" align="alignleft" width="320"] Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius[/caption] Dimapur, June 20 (EMN): The Archbishop of Calcutta Diocese under the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius, is scheduled to visit Nagaland from June 21 to 23. The Diocese of Calcutta is spread over ten states from Nagpur (Maharastra) to Nagaland. He will be visiting Dimapur MGOS Church, St. Thomas Mission Society, MGM Higher Secondary School and MGM College. In a press release, Fr. Dr. PS Varghese, vicar and principal of MGM College, informed that the Bishop would be the chief guest of MGM College 3rd freshers’ day programme at 9:30 On June 22. He would also administered the Holy Communion on June 23 at 8 am followed by blessing ceremony of the new block of MGM College at Dimapur Mar Gregorios Orthodox Church. Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius was consecrated as Bishop on February 19, 2009. He was a renowned college professor who secured M. Phil, Ph.D degree from Kerala University, D. Literature from University of South America, USA, BD degree from Serampore University and M.Th (Missiology) from Faith Theological Seminary, ATA. He has bagged 1st rank in B.Sc and M.Sc from Madras University, a research guide in the University of Kerala has also been awarded St. Berchmanns’s award for the best university teacher in the State of Kerala. He was also selected as ‘Man of the Year in 2003’ by American Biographical Institute. An eloquent leader, author of more than 18 books ranging from Eco-spirituality to environmental science, he has published more than 25 research articles in national and international journals. An academician, under his able leadership there are more than 31 higher secondary schools, an engineering college, Christian College of Engineering and Technology (CCET, Bhilai), St. Thomas College (which offers graduation to Ph.D), St. Thomas B.Ed college, MGM College, Dimapur, and more than a dozen mission projects for the benefit of the down trodden.
