Dimapur, July 21 (EMN): 32 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) activated two columns for flood relief operations and rescued the stranded people from Kushiabil, Dimapur on July 20.
Assam Rifles troops were requisitioned by DC Dimapur to provide aid to the civil authorities on July 20, where Assam Rifles launched flood relief operation. During the operation a total of 114 marooned persons were rescued and brought to safe havens where they were given requisite first aid, medicines and served hot meals.
Civil authorities working in conjunction with Assam Rifles were also assisted to take stock of the situation for further rehabilitation of the evacuated people.
