AR organises anti-drug campaign in Mokokchung
DIMAPUR — Continuing with its anti-drug campaign, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Kripa Foundation and Miss Nagaland 2022 Hikali Achumi, conducted a programme at Mokokchung town hall on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Manoj Kumar, superintendent of police and special invitee, has emphasised on the crucial role of community involvement in the fight against drug abuse. He has stressed on the need for collective action to create a drug-free environment.
A defence release stated that distinguished guest speakers including Chumlamo Lotha, ADC of Mokokchung; Arenla Longkhumer, president of Watsu Mungdang; and Hikali Achumi also shared valuable insights on combating the menace of drug abuse, adding depth to the campaign.
Key highlights of the event included an address to the students by Dr. Temsumenla, senior medical officer at Mokokchung District Hospital, on the issue of drug abuse, its prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts, screening of a short movie depicting Assam Rifles’ untiring efforts towards war on drug abuse and captivating performances by the students of Ungma SGHSS and Front Fem Group.
The Assam Rifles Jazz Band, in collaboration with the local band, enthralled the gathering with musical performances.
The campaign concluded with felicitation to the guest speakers including Manoj Kumar, Arenla Longkhumer and Hikali Achumi by the Assam Rifles in recognition of their invaluable contributions to the cause.
