Dimapur, July 22 (EMN): Based on specific information regarding presence of an arms dealer, troops of 32 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) alongwith police representatives launched an operation at Burma Camp, Dimapur on July 18.
During the search, troops of Assam Rifles apprehended one accused identified as T Jacob, age 30 years, son of Akum Kuki, resident of Virazouma village, Dimapur from a Maruti Alto Car (regd No NL 05C 3121) alongwith three Pt 22mm Pistols with magazine and 18 live rounds of Pt 22mm.
The apprehendee alongwith the recovered arms and ammunition was handed over to East Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation.
