Dimapur, Feb. 8 (EMN): Jalukie battalion of the Assam Rifles has arrested one suspected NSCN (KN) cadre from Ahthibung town in Peren district on February 8. The cadre was arrested during an operation basing on specific information.
According to Assam Rifles statement, the cadre has been identified as Jamhun (35), son of Kaikhopao and resident of Athibung. The cadre confessed to be an active NSCN (KN) cadre assigned with the tasked to collect extortion money from vehicles carrying timber.
One register with records of extortion was recovered from his possession. The cadre along with the recovery items have bee handed over to Athibung Police Station, the release added.
