Dimapur, June 10 (EMN): Mokokchung battalion of the Assam Rifles provided assistance to District Hospital, Mokokchung, in establishing a Covid care centre (CCC) on June 8.
A defence release stated that the initiative was aimed at shouldering the responsibilities of district administration in facilitating the people with optimal patient care and necessary medical aid. It stated that the battalion has provided temporary waiting tents and potable water for the patients.
It further added that the district administration and local residents have appreciated efforts of the Assam Rifles.
In a related programme, Jalukie battalion of the Assam Rifles organised a Covid-19 awareness drive for the children and staff of Zeme Women Organisation Children’s Home and Christian Servanthood Ministry Orphanage Home in Peren town on June 9.
The team organised a campaign focused on creating awareness about precautions to be taken in the wake of recent surge in Covid-19 cases. The team has emphasised on use of face masks, social distancing and use of hand sanitizers among other precautions.
It added that face masks and hand sanitisers were also distributed to the staff and the children. The staffs of both the orphanages were also encouraged to complete their Covid-19 vaccination.
