AR conducts road safety awareness drive

Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): Khonsa battalion of the Assam Rifles organised a road safety awareness drive in Khonsa town on February 3 and 4.

The drive was organised in consonance with the theme of national road safety month which is being observed across the nation from January 18 to February 17, stated a defence release on February 9. The theme of the national road safety month is “Sadak Suraksha – Jeevan Raksha.”

During the course of road safety awareness drive, motorists were stopped with the help of Tirap police personnel and informed about the basics of road safety, road discipline, identification and understanding of road signs, it stated.

It added that the efforts of Assam Rifles to enhance the awareness among the local populace was appreciated by all motorists, administrative officials and Tirap police.
