DIMAPUR β The Assam Rifles, in collaboration with District Hospital Peren, organised a mega medical camp at Old Tesen village in Peren district on May 5.
The camp was conducted with the objective to provide medical aids and consultations to the villagers living in far-flung areas and who have limited access to healthcare facilities, an update stated.
The medical camp held at Christian School, Old Tesen village, was attended by a large number of villagers from the surrounding areas. A team of doctors from District Hospital, Peren, along with doctors, nurses and paramedical staff from the Assam Rifles, provided free consultation, medicines and treatment for various ailments and health problems.
The team included specialists in fields of otolaryngology, dermatology and general medicine along with an ophthalmology technician.
The medical team ensured that all necessary precautions and safety protocols were followed while conducting the health checks.
The medical camp was well-received by the Old Tesen villagers as well as villagers from the nearby villages. Around 482 adults and 105 children were benefited by the medical camp, it stated.
In addition to medical consultation and treatment, the camp also had a team of healthcare professionals who educated the people about various health issues and provided them with tips on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
βThe Mega Medical Camp organised by Assam Rifles was a much-needed initiative in the region as the villagers have limited access to healthcare facilities due to remote location of their village and underprivileged areas,β the update stated.
