Dimapur, July 9 (EMN): Kiphire battalion of the Assam Rifles, assisted by village guard and villagers, cleared multiple road blockades due to landslides on main axis to the remote border village by providing land excavator in Mimi village in Kiphire district on July 7.
A defence release stated that the road from Mimi village to Khongjiri junction and further to Pungro and Kiphire was blocked due to multiple landslides triggered by incessant rains in the past few days. Following an appeal by the village council and village guards of Mimi village, the Assam Rifles immediately responded to the request and cleared the road blocks.
It stated that the village council members, village elders, and village guards of the village have appreciated the gesture of Assam Rifles.
In another programme, Tuensang battalion of the Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Changsha village in Mon district on July 7.
It stated that a total of 118 locals including 23 male, 38 female and 57 children were treated and provided with medicines. The villagers have appreciated the Assam Rifles.
