Dimapur, April 18 (EMN
): The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) (main) has been postponed in view of the exponential rise in Covid cases, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced on Sunday.

“Looking at the present situation of the Covid-19 pandemic and also taking into account the safety and well-being of the candidates and examination functionaries, it has been decided to postpone the JEE (Main) – 2021 April Session,” the NTA informed.

It stated that in an effort to support the student community, it had organised the JEE (Main) 2021 in four sessions. Two of these sessions had already been completed in February and March.

The agency informed that the revised dates for the April session would be announced later, and at least 15 days before the examination.

The engineering entrance exam was scheduled to be held from April 27 to the 30th.

In the meantime, the agency has advised the candidates to use the time to prepare themselves better for the examination. It said they can also take practice (full length/ chapter wise) tests on the NTA Abhyas App from the comfort of their homes. They are also advised to keep visiting the official websites of NTA (www.nta.ac.in) and (https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/) for the latest updates.
