Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak announces new space startup
Dimapur, September 13 (EMN): After Elon Musk‘s SpaceX, Jeff Bezos‘ Blue Origin and Richard Branson‘s Virgin Galactic made headlines treating space as the new playground for billionaires, another space startup has joined the party, according to a tweet from Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.
Wozniak announced on Twitter today that he has started a new space company called Privateer Space. However, Wozniak did not reveal many details on the new space firm, apart from simply saying that his company was “unlike the others.”

He also shared a teaser video that spoke about mankind’s pursuit of reaching for the stars and called upon the world to dream bigger.
On the video’s YouTube description page, it is mentioned that Privateer Space was co-founded by former Apple engineer Alex Fielding. Wozniak had previously worked with Fielding on Wheels of Zeus and Ripcord Networks.
On its website, the company does not have any information on what it will be doing exactly. Besides a tagline of “The Sky is no longer the limit” and the Moon as a background, the website only mentions that it is on stealth mode as of now.
However, the company will reveal more details at the Advanced Maui Optical and Space Surveillance Technologies (AMOS) Conference scheduled between 14-17 September in Maui, Hawaii.
