APO to celebrate ‘Sekrenyi-cum-Mini Hornbill Festival’ in Dimapur
DIMAPUR — The Angami Public Organisation (APO) is all set to celebrate ‘Sekrenyi-cum-Mini Hornbill Festival’ at the State Stadium in Dimapur on February 24.
Briefing media persons at the proposed venue of the celebration, APO president, Razouvutou Chatso, informed that Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, would attend the event as the chief guest. He will be accompanied by the deputy chief ministers namely, TR Zeliang and Yanthungo Patton as the guests of honour.
Chatso also informed that Jacob Zhimomi, minister of Public Health Engineering and Cooperation; Tovihoto Ayemi, advisor of Tribal Affairs and Election; and Moatoshi Longkumer, advisor of Labour, Employment and Skill Development and Excise, as the special guests.
He updated that the organisers are expecting about 15,000 spectators from Nagaland and other neighbouring states. He added that all the leaders of the 16 recognised tribes in Nagaland have been invited to the festival.
The co-convener of planning committee, Neibou Sekhose, informed that the main aim of the festival this year was to celebrate together in unity.
Besides Razouvotuo Chatso and Neibou Sekhose, other officials who were present included Zhato Kimho, president of Chakhroma Public Organisation, and Neidilhoutuo Neibu Sechü, secretary of planning committee.
