Dimapur, May 15 (EMN): Angami Public Organisation (APO) has made a clarion call to every citizen to wake up and seriously tackle the Covid-19 issue together to stop from further surge adding that the best solution at hand is to stay indoors and break the chain of community transmission.
APO has expressed gratitude to the state government for taking a courageous decision to impose total lockdown throughout the state for a period of seven days with effect from May 14 and termed the decision timely, appropriate and unavoidable although not a desirable option in order to halt the unprecedented surge of the virus.
While describing the unprecedented scenario of the pandemic “alarming and threatening” with ever increasing positive cases in the state, APO president, Razouvoto Chatsu, and the assistant general secretary, Lhousito Khro, have appealed to every citizen in general and the Angami villages/towns and its people in particular to strictly adhere to the call of total lockdown and follow SOPs for the sake of one’s own safety and others.
APO also called upon the state government to strictly impose its decree unlike the previous lockdown, which had lots of loopholes and faced criticisms. It also called upon the state government to provide all necessary equipment and arrangements for the Covid patients and its front-line workers.
APO also appreciated the individuals, private firms, community and private hospitals for their selfless and priceless contributions for the care of Covid patients.
APO further affirmed its support and cooperation to the call of total lockdown by the state government.
