The Angami Public Organisation would like to convey its appreciation to the present government headed by Chief Minister Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu for revoking the recognition of Rongmei tribe as an indigenous tribe of Nagaland. The APO has demanded the revocation of this act on 13th of September 2013 along with all civil societies of Nagaland but the previous Government had refused to listen to the voice of the people who voted them to power. APO welcomes the cabinet decision to revoke the Rongmei tribe recognition and hope that the present Government resolve other existing contentious issues at the earliest without any fear or favour.
