Students and attendees of the Delhi Ao Kaketshir Telongjem 30th freshers’ meet on September 28 at Nagaland House in New Delhi.

Dimapur, Sep. 30 (EMN): The Delhi Ao Kaketshir Telongjem conducted its 30th freshers’ meet on September 28 at Nagaland House in New Delhi. Over 200 delegates attended the event.

The union issued a press release to the media on Monday informing about the programme.

Dr. Walunir Tzudir spoke about the importance of updating skills and assess pursuits ‘to match the times,’ the updates stated. He urged the students to become ‘producer of knowledge and not just a consumer.’

The main speaker of the event was Dr. Imosongla Jamir, assistant professor at the Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi. She spoke about the importance of youths in driving the nation’s economy forward making best use of the country’s ‘demographic dividends.’ She urged the students to be a part of a community that will lead the nation forward.

Another speaker at the event, Tarenla Imchen, in her exhortation emphasised on the importance of mother tongue and the need to preserve one’s culture in today’s world ‘which is becoming more homogenised (sic),’ the press release stated.
