The Ao Senden held a series of meetings with Tuli Area Joint Council and Workers Union NPPC Ltd. concerning the revival and functioning of Nagaland Pulp & Paper Company Ltd. Tuli (NPPC Ltd).
During the interactions with various officials and unions on Wednesday, findings were made by Ao Senden for immediate intervention and redressal by concerned authority.
A statement issued by Ao Senden president Imolemba Jamir and general secretary S. Panger Ao pointed out that the NPPC Ltd. in its inception had one post of Managing Director (MD) but at present it is being manned without a MD which now required immediate deputation.
Ao Senden stressed the need to open a separate bank account for NPPC Ltd for transparency in the financial transactions.
It said, “Out of phase-wise 100 crore sanctioned for the revival of NPPC Ltd. only 40 crore is being utilised. It is observed that `60 crore has been diverted to unknown sector and the officials at NPPC Ltd. have no knowledge about its utilisation. This diversion, on the other hand, hampers the rehabilitation process of NPPC Ltd. which also needs thorough inquiry regarding the diversion and utilisation.”
For the successful revival and redressal of the grievances of the NPPC Ltd., the Ao Senden assured to appeal the government of India, Hindustan Paper Corporation (HPC), State government and stake-holders for the successful revival of NPPC Ltd.
