Ao Senden expresses solidarity with fire victims

DIMAPUR — The Ao Senden (AS) has expressed solidarity with the fire victims of MMC shopping complex in Mokokchung town that occurred on the night of February 3.

Describing the unfortunate fire incident as a devastating blow to the dedicated local entrepreneurs, Ao Senden has urged the Government of Nagaland to compensate the entrepreneurs in the best possible ways.

Meanwhile, Ao Senden expressed gratitude to one and all for timely intervention in dousing the fire. It has particularly expressed gratitude to the district administration, personnel of Fire and Emergency Services, SDRF, Assam Rifles, Mokokchung Police, AWUMT, MCCI and individuals for providing water from their own home-reservoirs to contain the devastating fire.

It further thanked Imkongmar, advisor of Sericulture and Minority Affairs, for his timely visit and taking stock of the disaster on behalf of the Ao legislators.

MMC administrator notifies public

In view of the damage caused due to fire outbreak at the MMC shopping complex and taking into account the safety of the shopkeepers and customers, the additional deputy commissioner (ADC) and administrator of MMC, Chumla Humtsoe, informed that the RG block and shop numbers from 17 to 42 on the first floor would remain closed till technical assessment of the structural safety of the building is carried out. While urging the public for strict compliance, he added that further notice would be issued in due course of time.
