DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 14

IN view of the mounting pressure of agitations and the road blockade called by Longkum Lanur Telongjem, the Ao Senden, Watsü Mungdang and Ao Students’ Conference have once again reiterated its earlier demand to deliver justice in inhuman torture and murder case of Nungshilila in Dimapur on July 4, 2013.
A joint statement issued by the three organizations today reminded that though a series of representations were submitted to the higher authority, the government and its investigating agencies have neglected the case by trying to avoid it and shown insincerity to penalise the culprits.
The three organizations had earlier demanded that the arrested suspects should not be granted bail till they are penalised and the case settled. However, they expressed surprise to learn that the accused who were chargesheeted have been granted bail already, the statement said today.
“We demand that the suspects be rearrested at the earliest,” it said.
“The chargesheet presented by the Special Investigating Officer is vague and highly questionable. Hence needs to be re-investigated thoroughly taking into account of all circumstantial evidences by obtaining the Foreignsic Laboratory Report at the stipulated time so that justice is delivered and normalcy is restored,” it stated.
