DIMAPUR — Upholding the Plebiscite of May 16, 1951, and declaration of Naga Independence on August 14, 1947, Ao and Rengma regions of the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) have affirmed to work for Naga sovereignty under the leadership of NNC president, Gen. (retired) Thinoselie M Keyho, and FGN acting Kedahge, Namrikiu.

The FGN midan peyu of Ao region, Lipok Chuba, has condemned the reported unlawful meeting held at K Basa Village without the consent of its Kedahge. He stated that the Ao region was not a party to such events and declared to work for Naga nation under the leadership of Gen. (retired) Thinoselie M Keyho and Namrikiu.

In another statement, the Rengma region stated that it was aware of the September 23 meeting at K Basa Village and termed it as ‘unconstitutional.’ The FGN midan peyu of Region region, Danile, stated that it would continue to work for the nation under the leadership of Gen. (retired) Thinoselie M Keyho and FGN acting Kedahge, Namrikiu.

Meanwhile, the NNC vice president, TS Keyho, has expressed shocked to come across news reports in the local dailies, wherein he was elected as the president of NNC in place of Gen. (retired) TM Keyho during a meeting at K Basa village on September 23.

“It is unfortunate and outrageous to make such claims without my consent. I never acknowledge, endorse nor accept the decisions of the said meeting which I later found was unconstitutional. The report was aimed to tarnish my image, reputation and integrity which I condemn,” TS Keyho said.

TS Keyho declared to the Naga people that he was not a member of the conspirators of that unconstitutional meeting adding his loyalty to the nation must not be questioned by anybody. He has affirmed to continue serving the nation with the NNC president, Gen. (retired) Thinoselie M Keyho.

He has further requested the government to consider his case and revoke the expulsion Ahza on September 27 due to false reports.
