Dimapur, Oct. 9 (EMN): All Nagaland School Teachers Association (ANSTA) has announced to hold its general conference on November 1 and 2 at John Government Higher Secondary School, Viswema, on the theme “Professional renewal towards academic excellence.”
The association press release issued by its president, Ponchulo Wanth, and the general secretary, Visato Koso, stated that state minister of PWD, Tongpang Ozüküm, would be the special guest, while advisor of school education KT Sükhalu would be the guest speaker, and principal secretary of school education and SCERT Menukhol John would be the resource person.
The association informed that besides the inaugural function on the first day, there would be two sessions on open discussion/ brain storming session. In the first session, ANSTA participants from Kohima, Mon, Mokokchung, Peren, Zunheboto and Kiphire districts would discuss on the topic “What ails the academic performance of government schools in Nagaland? How to improve it?.” The second session with participants from Dimapur, Wokha, Tuensang, Phek, Longleng and Noklak districts would discuss on the topic “Challenges of government schools teachers in Nagaland. Suggestion for remedial measures.”
The two open discussions would be followed by summing up and adoption of resolutions. There would be an evening worship service on the first day of the conference wherein Fr. Vimedo Joseph Kezo, associate professor of St. John College, Jakhama, would speak on “Work is worship.”
The second day of the conference would begin with Razouseyi Vese, additional director of school education as the guest speaker.
In order to entertain the delegates, organisers would also organise volleyball exhibition matches on the first day morning. Also to inculcate habit of caring and loving towards nature among the teaching community, a nature walk to picturesque Dzükou valley would be organised on the second day.
The central ANSTA and ANSTA Kohima Unit- hosts of the conference has invited atleast 30-50 delegates from all districts and sub-divisions to attend the conference.
