ANSTA gears up to host general conference

Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): The All Nagaland School Teachers Association (ANSTA) will hold its general conference on November 1 and 2 at John Govt. Hr. Sec. School Viswema on the theme “professional renewal towards academic excellence”. The conference is being hosted by ANSTA Kohima unit and it is expected to be one of the biggest conference with participation by teachers from all over the state.

The dignitaries of the inaugural function include Tongpang Ozüküm, Minister doe PWD as special guest; K.T. Sükhalu, Advisor school education as guest speaker and Menukhol John, Principal Secretary Department of School Education & SCERT as the resource person.

On the first day, the special features will be an open discussion/brain storming session on the topic: “what ails the academic performance of govt. schools in Nagaland? how to improve it” where members from ANSTA Kohima, Mon, Peren, Mokokchung, Zunheboto and Kiphire districts shall participate. The second open discussion will be on the topic “challenges of govt. school teachers in nagaland. suggestions for remedial measure” where the participants from ANSTA Dimpaur, Wokha, Tuensang, Phek, Longleng and Noklak districts will take part. After summing up of the two open discussions, a resolution will be adopted.

The 2nd day of the conference, will be addressed by Razouseyi Vese, additional director school education as guest speaker and Advisor ANSTA, Kepelhoutuo Chüsi will deliver a speech on the topic: “skills upgradation in tune with fast changing system of education”.

After the conclusion of the conference, a nature walk to Dzükou valley will be undertaken for those delegates who have a love for nature. The nature walk has been conceptualised so that the teachers can develop the habit of loving and caring mother nature among the teaching community so as to inculcate it in the students.

“As far as ongoing preparation for the forth coming conference is concerned, the organizers hopes that it will be one of the biggest gathering of the teaching community of present era. Hence, the central ANSTA along with Kohima Unit (the hosts of the conference) cordially invites at least 30-50 delegates from all the districts and sub-divisions to be a part of this “mega event” of the Nation Builders,” stated the ANSTA president, Ponchulo Wanth and general secretary, Visato Koso through a press statement.
