Dimapur, March 27 (EMN): All Nagaland School Teachers Association (ANSTA) has appealed to the State government to implement the 7th Revision of Pay (ROP) with effect from March 1, 2017, in conformity with the demanded by CANSSEA.
All Nagaland School Teachers Association (ANSTA) – the main component of CANSSEA- reiterated that in every pay revision, Nagaland government has been lagging behind by two or more years in its implementation.
In a joint statement, ANSTA president Ponchulo Wanth and the treasurer Temjenyapang urged upon the CANSSEA to be firm on its demand saying it is a legitimate demand in which every government servant of the State is in support of it and behind the fight.
It recalled the speech of the State chief minister Dr. Shürhozelie on the third day of the 15th session of the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly on March 24, wherein he stated that his government had decided to implement 7th ROP from April 2018 though CANSSEA has demanded with effe4ct from March 1, 2017.It argued that in every revision of pay, Nagaland government was lagging behind by two years or more in its implementation as the same has been implemented only after a gap of 2 years and some months.
“If Nagaland government is determined to deprive its employees of the 7th ROP for 6 years (2+2+2=6), it will be a tremendous loss in one’s service career of the Nagaland government employees,” ANSTA release said. It stated that if Nagaland government do not grant 7th ROP to its employees in due time, the State employees would be facing twice prices rise/hike due to differences in its implementation date which might likely lead them to economic crisis in the near future.
Keeping in view of the fact that pay/salary is the sole sustaining source of teachers, the Association disclosed that every pay revision made after every 10 years is crucial for teaching community adding the present 7th ROP issue being demanded by CANSSEA on behalf of all State employees is a genuine one.
In the light of the above stated circumstances, ANSTA has extended support to CANSSEA in any form of protest/agitation till the issue is resolved.
In a separate statement Nagaland School Education Administrative Officers Association (NSEOA), All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) and Nagaland Government Higher Secondary Employees Association (NGHSSEA) have jointly resolved to support the agitation of the CANSSEA in the pen down strike for the implementation of 7th ROP with effect from March 1, 2017.
In this respect, employees of the Directorate of School Education, all the DEO establishments, SDEO establishments, SSA and RMSA decided to strictly implement the pen down strike agitation.
A joint press statement issued by NSEOA president Y Khetoshe Yepthomi, ANSTA president Ponchilo Wath and NGHSSEA president Kelhikha Kenye said school classes and exams will be exempted in the first phase as per the directive of CANSSEA. It further stated that all the members of school education department will participate in the next stage of agitation should the deadlock continue between the state government and CANSSEA in this issue.
