Dimapur, Sep 1 (EMN): Demanding implementation of 67% job reservation for work-charged employees, the All Nagaland PWD Field Workers’ Association (ANPWDFWA) including (R&B), Housing and National Highway have threatened strike by blocking all the existing PWD roads in case the department fails to listen to their wishes.
In a representation to the Commissioner and Secretary of Work and Housing, ANPWDFWA has resented the apathy of the concerned department especially towards the work-charged employees for the past many years despite serving with utmost sincerity and devotion.
A representation appended by ANPWDFWA president, K Atovi Awomi, and the general secretary, Zubemo Ngullie, stated that work-charged employees were deprived of regularisation despite many vacancies arising out of retirement, while the resulting vacancies in the department were always occupied by the fresh appointee thereby depriving the genuine work-charged employees who have served the department for many years with just a meagre wages.
It alleged that many fresh appointments were made from higher ups against the 67% quota meant for senior most genuine work-charged employees in contravention to order of the Guwahati High Court and recent order from the P&AR (AR Branch) for regularisation of work-charged employees vide order No. AR-3/Gen-67/201/ 2009 Dt. Kma, the 17th March’ 2015
As the department turned a deaf ears despite several appeals on the matter, ANPWDFWA has threatened to organise strike by blocking all the existing PWD roads in case the department fails to listen to the wishes of the employees adding any lose or untoward incident would be held solely responsible by the department. While stating that it is demanding nothing more nothing less, ANPWDFWA has appealed the concerned department for complete implementation of the reservation in letter and spirit.
