ANPSA Pfutsero organises ‘Cultural Meet’

Dimapur: All Nagaland Private Schools Association (ANPSA) Pfutsero sub-division organised a ‘Cultural Meet’ on the theme ‘Shaping minds with cultural values’ at Nazareth School, Pfutsero, on April 21.

Asst. District Manager, NSRLM, RD dept. Phek, Zhalie Puro, the special guest of the event, in his address, briefed the gathering about the rich Naga culture, including organic food and drinks, traditional agricultural practices and dignity of labour.

He exhorted the members present to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of the Nagas.

A total of 16 schools took in folk song quartet competition and nine schools in the drama competition based on the Naga folktale ‘The legend of Sopfunuo.’

Winners of the drama competition: Baptist School Pfutsero (first), Nazareth School Pfutsero (second) and Baptist Mission School, Phusachodu (third). The first three winners received INR 5000, 3000 and 1000 respectively, along with certificates.

Winners of the quartet: Baptist School Pfutsero (first), Union Christian School Pfutsero (second) and Solomon Christian School, Middle Khomi (third). The three winners received INR 4000, 2000 and 1000 respectively, along with certificates.

The judges for the drama competition were Diezeno Tase, Asst. Prof. PGC; Neitele Mero, Asst. Prof., BTC and Dr. Aneile Puro, Associate Prof., DIET. The judges for quartet were Shuduzo Curhah, Wekhroü Ritse and Vehüsülü Rose.

Earlier, the programme started with invocation by Fr. Lancy Santosh D’Costa, Principal of Nazareth School and Thepuhu Thira, President of ANPSA Pfutsero Sub-Division, delivered welcome address.
