Another 24 hr-bandh in Manipur today

[dropcap]M[/dropcap]anipur will be witnessing another 24-hour bandh on National Highways, the life line of the state, from Saturday midnight.
The bandh is expected to be total in the Zeliangrong inhabited areas as many Zeliangrong organisations such as Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF), All Zeliangrong Students Union (AZSU) and Zeliangrong Students Union, Manipur (ZSUM) were involved in calling the bandh.Sources said the bandh was called over the expiry of 48 hours dateline served to police department and failure on the part of the police department to arrest the accused Hingba Mathew, the warden of Josephine Girls Hostel, Maram, claimed to be the main accused in the physical assault case of Ringsanbou Newmai, a student of Don Bosco College, Maram in Senapati district on July 28, 2014. The ZYF, AZSU and ZSUM have appealed to all the right thinking people, organisations, inter-state passenger services and transporters, different companies executing works under national projects such as Power Grid, Railways, BRTF to extend maximum cooperation and support towards the cause for getting justice. However essential services including medical, fire services, electricity, educational institutions and media were exempted from the purview of the bandh.
