ALL Nagaland Industrial Entrepreneurs’ Federation (ANIEF) has urged the department of Industries and Commerce to immediately stop the ongoing process of re-verification of the Small Scale Industry (SSI) units pertaining to the pending cases under Central Transport Subsidy (CTS) and the Central Capital Investment Subsidy (CCIS) for the year 2007 to 2009.
ANIEF said all pending cases under the scheme for the said periods have already been verified or re-verified several times by the concerned department and the claims of the pending cases have been pre-audited by the Department of Industrial Promotion and Policy (DIPP), Government of India, during 2011 and releasing of fund was awaited.
ANIEF president Povotso Lohe and the general secretary, Orenbomo Humtsoe, said the present exercise of resorting to another round of verification is not justified and it is only a matter of futile exercise of delay tactics to release payment to the selected beneficiaries under the scheme.
ANIEF claimed that the ongoing process of re-verification of the industrial units through backdoor by the department staff was simply a ploy to cause undue financial hardship and harassment to the selected units. It also alleged of showing sheer apathy of the government and indifferent attitude of the concerned department in promotion of industrial activities in the State.
ANIEF has expressed strong resentment over the manner in which the State department of Industrial and Commerce has resorted to another round of re-verification of the units on the basis of pick and choose randomly without any justification. It has, therefore, urged the department to stop the present exercise of re-verification of pending cases, adding if another selection of unit is done at this stage would be treated null and void.
