Dimapur, July 21 (EMN): Underlining the important role of Anganwadi workers in the community, Additional Director of Social Welfare department Tulula Pongen urged the former to reaffirm on their commitment and work with sincerity in delivering service to the people.
Tulula Pongen stated this during a meeting with all Anganwadi workers under Mon district on July 19 at Council Hall, Mon town. She has particularly stressed on the Ratriya Poshan Abhiyaan programme, which is a convergence of many departments where Social Welfare is the nodal department.
She advised the Anganwadi workers to work sincerely on the holistic programme as they are working directly at the grassroots. The targeted groups under the programme are children under 0-6 years of age, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
She also requested the workers to mobilise on the awareness of nutrition mission.
A meeting of district convergence committee for implementation of Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan (National Nutrition Mission) was also held at the DC’s conference hall on July 18 Tulula Pongen. Thavaseelan K, DC and chairman of district convergence action plan committee, Mon, chaired the meeting.
