Anganwadi workers in Karbi Anglong reiterate demand of pending arrears

Diphu, Oct. 8 (EMN): All Karbi Anglong Anganwadi Workers, Helpers, Mini Association held its meeting at Diphu Club on Friday to demand their arrears from the state government as it has been pending for several years. The meeting also constituted a new body as the old committee had become inactive.
Informing the media, the association said that there are pending arrears to be received from the state government for Anganwadi workers and helpers working under ICDS. Every year as arrears, the state government gives an amount of INR 12,000 to the Anganwadi workers and helpers. However, since 2014, arrears are pending.
It also informed that with the increment of INR 2000, the Anganwadi workers and helpers are receiving honorarium of INR 6,500 per month. However, it has become known that such increments will be stopped.
