DIMAPUR — Anganwadi Centre (AWC) building in Aboi ‘A’ under Aboi ICDS project in Mon district was inaugurated on January 9 by Tosheli Zhimomi, director of Social Welfare department. The AWC was constructed and donated by Langsa Hills Welfare Society, Lampong, Sheanghah, Mon.
Speaking at the inaugural function, the director thanked the donors for their philanthropic initiative, stated a DIPR report.
The additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Aboi, Phuleshe Yepthomi, who was also present at the inaugural programme, exhorted the field officials and Anganwadi workers (AWW) to perform their assigned duties diligently.
The inaugural programme was followed with a coordination meeting of the director and senior officers of the Social Welfare department along with the Anganwadi workers of Aboi and Tobu ICDS projects.
During the meeting, Tosheli Zhimomi emphasised on the important role play by Anganwadi workers in the implementation of the ICDS programme as the AWC is the focal point for delivery of ICDS services. She also exhorted them to be sincere and diligent in their duties and also work in convergence with other line departmets at the grassroots.
The senior officers of the department also apprised the AWW of the various programmes under umbrella ICDS.
The programme was chaired by Amilo Yanthan, CDPO of Tizit, while the welcome address was delivered by Tsalito Sangtam, DPO of ICDS Mon, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Hemping, CDPO Tobu.
