Dimapur, April 17 (EMN): As many students stranded in various cities are going through difficult times in procuring essential commodities and financial resources to meet their daily needs following the nationwide lockdown in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic, students from the Angami community have formed ‘Angami Students Emergency Centre’ to help those in distress.

The Angami Students Emergency Centre was formed collectively by various student unions, including the Angami Students’ Union Delhi (ASUD), Angami Students’ Union Bangalore (ASUB), Angami Students’ Union Shillong (ASUS), Angami Kephriinuoko Krotho Guwahati (AKKG), an update from Vitso Rio, Advocate Supreme Court of India stated.

The Angami Students Emergency Centre comprising of Angami student representatives from almost every state was formed with a single objective “to provide a means of contact and assist Angami students who are stranded across different cities.’

The students have expressed gratitude to the Nagaland House officials in different cities for actively reaching out and assisting those in need. It also thanked all the various NSUs in different cities for their help and assistance to the Nagas in general and the Angamis in particular.

It hoped that the Angami Emergency Centre would provide better means of contact to all especially for Angamis who are stranded in different cities across the country.

The update stated that at this challenging and uncertain time, it is imperative for each one to rise above own interests and honour their respective duty towards the country, state and towards humanity. It has sought a collective responsibility in countering the pandemic rather than wallowing in cynicism within the comforts of one’s isolated homes.
