DIMAPUR — The Angami Sports Association (ASA) on Monday condemned the fatal assault on Kezhalelie Lawrence Miasalhou, Political Assistant to the Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, by two individuals identified as Neizosietuo Kire and Khrietsonyu Whuorhie.

In a press release, the ASA expressed deep pain and outrage over the incident, denouncing the “heinous acts of assault” by the two individuals, who are both known wrestlers.

“ASA appeal to its wrestling and sporting fraternity to exercise prudence in all walks of life and maintain the values expected and befitting of a sports person in the society,” the release stated.

Further, the association vowed to take appropriate action against the perpetrators in due course and appealed to law enforcement agencies to expedite the investigation and ensure the culprits are booked under appropriate sections of law.

It went on to state that, “Kezhalelie Lawrence Miasalhou was a prominent leader of the Angami community and contributed to the society in numerous acts of social service,” and conveyed its sincere condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for their solace.
