Angami Sports Association 50th meet: Neiketoulie Belho, Abeino Neihu emerge individual champions in athletics

Neiketoulie Belho of Nasa and Abeino Neihu of Sasa emerged as the men’s and women’s individual champion respectively, even as the Angami Sports Association (ASA) 50th meet entered day-two on Tuesday at IG Stadium in Kohima.

At the end of the athletics events, Belho won a gold medal each in 100 metre race, 200 metre race, long jump and high jump while Neihu also fetched the gold medal in 100 metre race, 200 metre race, long jump and a silver medal each in 400m race as well as in triple jump.

According to an update issued by Neilekho Zutso, ASA athletics secretary and Seyielhouvi Nagi, ASA general secretary, uptill now, Nasa is leading the medal tally with 17 gold,  18 silver 11 bronze while SASA is trailing behind with nine gold, eight silver ten bronze.

CYO is in the third spot with one gold, one silver and one bronze while Wayo is in fourth with two bronze.

Various athletic events were conducted during the day at the venue.

In the men’s javelin throw, Medo Linyü (CYO) 48.92 metres emerged in first position while Kekhrüvil Kikhi (SASA) 48.16 metres and Tepuvikho Kulnu (Sasa) 46.25 metres won second and third position.

In discus throw for men, Khrietseizo Khiezhie (Nasa) 32.22 metre, Vizosietuo Pienyü (Nasa) 30.52 metre and Medo Linyü (CYO) 30.45 metre won first, second and third.

In the women’s event, Khriesasienuo Whuorie (Nasa) 23.18 metres, Medonguno Mejura (Sasa) 22.20 metres and Kekhrüzonu Khizho (Sasa) 21.65 metres won first, second and third.

In the 100 metre race for men, Neiketoulie Belho (Nasa) 10.88 sec, Kevichütuo Lhoungu (Nasa) 11.21 sec and Seyievizo Kire (Nasa) 11.34 sec secured first, second and third.

In the women’s category,  Abeino Neihu (Sasa) 14.03 sec, Rüduolhounuo Belho (Nasa) 14.09 sec and Neivotsonuo Chuse (Sasa) 14.10 sec emerged in first, second and third positions.

In the 200 metre race for men, Neiketoulie Belho (Nasa) 22.75 sec, Kevichütuo Lhoungu (Nasa) 23.03 sec and Mhasiletuo Yhome (Nasa) 23.81 sec secured first, second and third.

In the women’s category, Abeino Neihu (Sasa) 28.69 sec, Akhrienuo Linyü (Nasa) 29.16 sec and Rüduolhounuo Belho (Nasa) 29.21 sec secured first, second and third.

In the men’s high jump, Neiketoulie Belho (Nasa) 1.80 metre,  Keneitseizo Belho (Nasa) 1.80 metre and Ato Chutso (Sasa) 1.75 metre emerged first, second and third.

In the triple jump for women, Akhrienuo Linyü (Nasa) 9.18 metre, Abeino Neihu (Sasa) 9.17 metre and Alivino Chuse (Sasa) 9.09 metre emerged in first, second and third.

In the 5000 metre race for men,Tsole Yhokha (Sasa) 16.51.90 min, Thejakhrielie Mechülho (Nasa) 17.39.34 min and Keviselhou Sirie (Wayo) 17.40.12 min secured first, second and third.

In the 3000 metre race for women, Khriezelhounuo Keyho (Nasa) 12.17.32 min, Ruokuosanuo Kire (NASA) 12.24.22 min and Avono Zashümo (Sasa) 13.00.28 min bagged first, second and third.

In the 400 metre race, Dupisa Pucho (Sasa) 52.72 sec, Keneitseizo Belho (Nasa) 52.84 sec and Dziesezotuo Rutsa (Nasa) 53.81 sec secured first, second and third.

In the women’s category, Rüduolhounuo Belho (Nasa) 1.07.47 min, Abeino Neihu (Sasa) 1.08.25 min and Kelhouneinuo Rutsa (Nasa) 1.12.94 min won first, second and third.

In the javelin throw for women, Kevimesanuo Sote (Nasa) 23.28 metre

2, Vingouzino Chuse (Sasa) 21.88 metre and Kedoneino Peseyie (Wayo) 20.35 metre won first, second and third. 

 In the 800 metre race for men, Tsole Yhokha (Sasa) 2.03.47 min, Kelethuto Kin (Sasa) 2.08.84 min and Kevise Belho (Nasa) 2.09.97 min secured first, second and third.

In the women’s category, Khriezelhounuo Keyho (Nasa) 2.40.69 min, Ruokuosanuo Kire (Nasa) 2.41.06 min and Avono Zashümo (Sasa) 2.45.13 min secured first, second and third.

In the 4 x 400 metre mixed relay, Nasa team consisting of Dziesezotuo Rutsa,  Keneitseizo Belho, Kelhouneinuo Rutsa and Rüduolhounuo Belho emerged as the winners with a performance of

4.06.60 min.

Dupisa Pucho,  Vizapo Phinyo, Neivotsono Chuse and Abeino Neihu finished in second position at 4.14.25 min.

On Tuesday, football will commence at IG Stadium and Tsiesema ground.

Volleyball will also begin at Tsiemena ground while sepaktakraw will also be conducted at IG Stadium. 

In the meantime, badminton and table tennis will commence from the State Indoor Stadium.
