Dimapur, May 28 (EMN): Reiterating its earlier letter dated May 25, the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has demanded immediate resignation of the Director of Technical Education alleging his failure to furnish information for misappropriation of scholarship funds.
The union, in a joint statement issued by its president Katho P Awomi and the general secretary Vimeyiekho Vitso, strongly warned the director and the directorate “not to put more fuel to the fire which has resulted due to the departments corrupted way of functioning.”

The union warned that failure to comply with the popular demand of the students would invite “ugliest retaliation” from the students’ community. The union affirmed not accept any mere excuses or clarifications to pacify the demand of the union.

It may be stated that ANCSU on May 25 had demanded the director of Technical Education to resign from holding the public office by accusing him of failing to uphold and protect the welfare of the students’ community.

It claimed that the information sought regarding misappropriation of scholarship funds by the department on several occasions were not responded to but rather attempted to shield those officers and staff involved in misappropriating the scholarship funds for the students.

As per replies from the office, the union ascertained that the director was accountable for the misappropriation and convinced that his continuance as the director was nothing less than a threat to the welfare of the Naga students’ community.

It was under the aforesaid circumstances that ANCSU had demanded the director to resign on moral grounds within five days.
