Our Correspondent KOHIMA, MARCH 9 The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has announced that it will be launching its second phase of agitation on Thursday by putting up posters and pamphlets at prime locations in the state capital. The organization has been protesting against the state government’s failure to initiate any positive step to address loopholes in conducting of exams and distribution of seats for various technical courses by the state department of Technical Education since March 5 last. The first phase agitation of ANCSU, which was carried out in the form of refraining to attend regular classes by students of ANCSU affiliated colleges across the state, had ended on March 7. ANCSU president, Zhoku Thuluo said the organization had received a written assurance from the Chief Secretary on March 8, however, ANCSU viewed the assurance as unsatisfactory and has decided to launch its second phase of agitation. According to ANCSU, it was disappointing to note that the Chief Secretary’s letter was “very vague and eye washing the entire issue” where the union’s genuine grievances were not addressed.\ In this regard, ANCSU informed that it has unanimously decided to reject the official’s letter and reaffirmed to continue with their own course of action until justice is delivered.
