Dimapur, June 11 (EMN): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has given legislators 15 days to ‘detach’  teachers from ‘VIP duty.’ The students issued to the media on Monday a copy of a representation addressed to legislators in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

The ANCSU expressed fervently opposition to ‘attachment of teachers to VIPs’ in any manner. The group had requested the department in concern in this regard.

‘But despite several appeals and representation that were served, it is learnt that some legislators are still exercising attachment (sic) of teachers with them,’ the organisation lamented.

The ANCSU’s representation read: ‘Therefore, the union appeals to your good office to take this matter seriously and not to attach any teachers with your esteemed self under any condition or understanding and detach the aforementioned within 15 days / intently if there is any as this would directly affect the institution jeopardizing the welfare of the students’ community.’

The organisation assured that it will be ‘vigilant’ in this regard and will not compromise under any condition that would hamper the students’ welfare.

The teachers, the organisation explained, are supposed to be teaching in their posted institutions for the uplift and progress of students in particular and the institution in general.’
