DIMAPUR — The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has appealed to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (Education Section) for immediate release of the pending second instalment of CSS-PMS (post-matric scholarship), for the year 2022-2023, to the state of Nagaland.

The union, in a representation to the secretary of Ministry of Tribal Affairs, said it was dismayed to witness the ministry neglecting the sole purpose of scholarship through delay tactics, year after year, in sanctioning scholarships to the state of Nagaland.

The student body pointed out that on August 31, 2023, the implementing agency submitted a utilisation certificate to the concerned authority. But even after a lapse of more than 70 days, the matter has been kept in abeyance, it said.

The union appealed to the authority concerned to understand the need for scholarships by the students for their academic requirements and release the pending second instalment of CSS-PMS 2022-2023 at the earliest.

Meanwhile, the ANCSU acknowledged the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for releasing an amount of INR 36,08,43,250 as arrears for the year 2021-2022, and the first instalment (50% of central share) for the year 2022-2023, on November  16, 2022.
