The All Nagaland Co-operative Societies Federation (ANCSF) has strongly urged the State government to implement of National Co-operative Development Corporation (NCDC) schemes on the right track and make it operational without further delay. ANCSF president, RK Mekro in a release stated that the NCDC has been promoting and financing a wide-range of economic activities in the rural areas as there is no other institution exclusively meant for meeting the requirement of co-operators, hence, delaying or banning the NCDC schemes is a “great loss” to the state.
Viewing that Nagaland is under the category of least developed, the ANCSF requested the government to pay special attention to the co-operative sector so as to uplift the rural economy.
“The ANCSF request the state government not to raise any further points for delaying the implementation of NCDC a mere excuse of loan recovery since there is recovery section in the department for the purpose,” the release said.
Meanwhile, the federation thanked the government and the department of Co-operation for proper implementation of ICDP scheme through primary co-operative societies in Mon, Zunheboto and Dimapur. It proposed for continuation of the project to districts like Peren, Kiphire and Longleng to help uplift the poor rural areas of the State and its people.
