Amur Falcon roosting site open for tourists after 2 years

Dimapur, Oct. 4 (EMN): Amur Falcon Roosting Area Union (AFRAU) Pangti village has informed that it has reopened the Amur Falcon roosting site for tourists from October 2021 after remaining shut for two years. in view of the Government failure to provide infrastructural activities in Pangti Village

An update stated that P Thungchumo Shidio, AFRAU President, said conservation and protection of the Amur Falcons will be strengthened if the Government provides basic amenities and infrastructural activities within Pangti village in the near future.

Meanwhile, it informed that all Covid-19 related protocols will be strictly followed and officials have been instructed to ensure that all the domestic, national and international tourists adhere to the norms.

It said that there will be only one entry point (i.e. Raphapen Junction), while entry by boat/motorboat from Doyang Dam will be strictly restricted.

Hunting materials and crackers will be strictly prohibited within the demarcated area and vehicle movement between Raphapen and roosting area will be strictly restricted from 4 pm to 5 am.

It informed that noisy vehicles, either two- wheelers or four-wheelers as well as motorboats will be strictly restricted from 4 pm to 6 am.

Every group of visitors will be provided one guide from the AFRAU with a charge of INR 1000, while

Visitors have been informed to contact AFRAU (9862258907/9862510077) for homestay facilities.

It further informed that throwing of single-use plastic and waste materials within the Amur Falcon roosting area will be strictly prohibited.
