Amouranth is most-watched female streamer despite Twitch ban
Dimapur, July 15 (EMN): Despite numerous Twitch bans and recent backlash from the streaming community over her controversial ASMR streams, Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa has managed to become the most-watched female streamer in Q2 2021, beating popular female streamers like Pokimane and Valkyrae.
According to a report from streaming analytics platform Stream Hatchet, Amouranth clocked in a watch time of 13 million hours on Twitch for Q2 2021 making her the most-watched female streamer across all streaming platforms. Her numbers were significantly better than that of Pokimane (5 million hours) and Valkyrae (8 million hours) – two of the most popular and influential female streamers right now.

It may be mentioned that Amouranth and Indiefoxx were among a number of Twitch streamers that received a ban from the platform for their controversial “ASMR meta” streams that contained “sexually suggestive content.”
Despite the Twitch bans and being lambasted by the streaming community at large for her inappropriate and “sexually suggestive content” on her streams, Amouranth has benefitted from the clout that her content has generated.
The rising popularity of streamers like Amouranth does raise a few questions. On one hand, the Twitch community is condemning her content as provocative and harmful but on the other hand, her popularity suggests that a lot of people do like her content.
