‘Stonites with Alobo Naga,’ an exclusive solo concert of Alobo Naga for the students and staff of Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School was held at its school premises on June 13.
A press release issued on June 14 mentioned that the concert was organised by the school management led by Chairman Andrew Ahoto and Director Jr. High Ani Yepthomi.
The versatile and multi-talented Alobo Naga enthralled the audience with some of his most popular numbers, including those from Laughter & Tears, Road of thousand dreams, Kini-No. 2 and his band’s single chartbuster video album, Painted Dreams which won the Best Indian Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) in 2012, stated the release.
Much to the delight of the audience Alobo Naga is said to have performed one of his greatest yester songs ‘Kumsujulo’ or ‘Live as One’ from his solo debut album which had won him the best folk fusion award at the Nagaland music award 2011.
The artist is said to have curtained down the solo concert with one of his recent and most well-known Nagamese songs based on dignity of labour ‘Mistry Gaana’ by dedicating it to the students.
The sublime atmosphere was made all the more emotional as Alobo opened up to the jam packed school auditorium and shared his life’s journey and struggles in the backdrop of a stereotypical society where people had a very low opinion about a career in music.
According to him, it was a constant up-hill task for him to reach the zenith of success wherein he had to face a lot of obstacles where God was his constant support and guided his fate throughout. He motivated the students by bringing home the fact that with God everything is possible
