Musician Alobo Naga appointed Director of NEZCC, Dimapur, on a three-year contract to promote Northeast India's cultural heritage

KOHIMA — Governor Nand Kishore Yadav, in his capacity as Chairman of North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), has appointed musician Alobo Naga as Director of NEZCC, Dimapur, on a short-term contract for a period of three years.
According to a notification issued by the governor's secretariat, the appointment follows the approval conveyed by the Union Ministry of Culture through a letter dated June 29, 2026.
The appointment will take effect from the date Alobo Naga assumes charge. He will be entitled to the pay and allowances admissible to the post of director in the government of India, as approved by the central government.
Alobo Naga is one of Nagaland's best-known contemporary musicians and singer-songwriters. As the frontman of Alobo Naga & The Band, he has represented Nagaland on national and international platforms while actively promoting the state's arts, culture and indigenous heritage.
He is also the founder and director of Musik-A, a music school in Dimapur that mentors and trains aspiring musicians.
